Hey all, I am a guy that's going to be in a summer stage rock and roll revue and we are responsible for doing our own stage makeup (it's in a big high school theater.) They gave us all a list of what we need but I have no idea where to start. Apparently we also need to do our own before coming to the theater. The list says that we need:
Liquid foundation that matches skin tone
Eyeliner
"dramatic mascara"
Blush
Lipstick - reddish-brown/mocha shade
Can anyone give me specific brands or colors that would work? Also, how do I learn how to "do" it?
Thanks!
P.S. They also said that we could go to a makeup counter or cosmetic store for help but I don't know if i'm comfortable with that, i feel like i'd get a lot of funny looks!|||Maybe have one of the other actors or actresses from your show that is more experienced help you. Or just go buy the makeup yourself, Covergirl and New York Color are good brands that are also pretty cheap.
Get a waterproof mascara so that it doesn't run when you sweat under the lights. And make sure the lipstick looks somewhat neutral. The blush should be about the color that your cheeks naturally turn when you get flushed.
To do the makeup: Use a makeup sponge to put and even and thin layer of the foundation on your face. Make sure its not streaky.
Apply the eyeliner along your lashes on the top, very close to them. Also put a little in the outer corners on the bottom.
For mascara put it on your top lashes, wait for it to dry and do it until you think its dramatic enough.
Put the blush on the apples of your cheeks and blend it out. You may need alot as the lights can wash you out.
For the lipstick just put it on like you are using chapstick.
Sorry its so long but I hope I helped!
BTW: Congrats about being in a show! When you get up there to perform its one of the best feelings in the world. Break a leg!|||Don't worry about it! (: Since these stuff is usually bought my women, you can have a friend of yours, your mother or your sister (if you have on) buy all the required make up! Then, ask them for advice on how to apply them or watch an internet tutorial on youtube (: It's really easy..!|||maybelline and covergirl are my favorites they have everything
as for applying just look it up on YouTube or google videos they help a lot
good luckk|||All of these can be found at your local CVS or other drug store for really cheap. for foundation you want the won that comes in a bottle not in a compact find one that is REALLY close to your FACE skin tone (your face could be a different shade from your arm/hands) IT WILL NOT MATCH EXACTLY just make sure its not too orange or too white. as for eyeliner you want black NOT grey or brown BLACK. Dramatic mascara means BLACK mascara NOT brown or blue BLACK. As for blush you want a brown/pink. Lipstick you sad it yourself reddish brown/mocha. I'd say best brands I would say Covergirl or Maybelline.
Application: Foundation- put some on your index finger then put a dot on your chin one on each cheek and one on your forehead then a streak on your nose. then rub it in so that it is even all over your face.
Eyeliner-apply it to your waterline (near your bottom eyelashes)
Mascara- open the bottle dip the wand in then put the wand as close as you can to the base of your lashes then pull outward to the tips of your eyelashes.
Blush- Suck in your cheeks then brush the blush on to the apples (the part above the part sucked in)
Lipstick- put it on like chap stick then dab off the extra with a tissue.
If you want to go to the makeup counter just say that you are doing stage makeup and they will understand and be able to help you.
