Is being really really obsessed with tarantulas just a stage??

i ask this because ever since i saw a rose hair in a pet store i have been obsessed with them, and going on sites all the time looking at different ones i can buy. ive been asking my parents if i can get one and they say its a lot of work, despite it being considered a really easy pet. i mean im just thinking that you gotta feed it 3 times a week, (and what if it doesnt eat the crickets) then you gotta pick em outta the cage. u gotta change the subsrate every couple months, and clean the cage totally. also crickets are some of the dirtiest animals ever created. and it goes on. is tarantula obsessing just a stage??? or does it last a life time??? also for people that own tarantulas, do there cages smell, is it hard feeding em crickets, and what are the challenges you face with them??|||If you really like something, you shouldn't hope it's just a stage.|||It depends if it is just a stage or if you're gonna love the tarantulas forever. But if you were planning to get one, you would need to think if you really liked them to take good care of them. Whats hard about owning pets that eat crickets is that you need a separate cage or box to keep them in, and thats what i dont like about cricket eating pets. But the cages do not smell|||totally. it just means you want one. i used to do the same with guinea pigs, but i got over it|||The cages smell surprisingly good, actually, if you have a dirt type substrate. Just make sure after the tarantula is completely finished feeding on the cricket (it leaves just a shell) you take it out or it will make the cage smell. Very interesting to watch, too. Anybody who says a tarantula can't climb the walls is a liar! My favorite part was watching their teeth move underneath their stomachs.. they're razor sharp and look like something out of a horror movie.

Edit: Also, it's not hard at all for feeding. Just drop a cricket in and watch the tarantula hunt :) Literally jumps across the tank onto the cricket and sucks the life out of it.
