Although I'm not 100% sure why, my KFC application didn't make it past the screening stage. In an email sent by KFC, I was told my files would be held for 90 days and that I was welcome to reapply. What I want to know is where I can now go from here.
For a first job I'm set on working at KFC part-time. And it has to be this one specific store, which makes things even more difficult. Should I reapply within the 90 days, or after (if ever again at all)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S - I'm not too sure where to put this because there's no "Careers" part of Y!7.|||This simply means that you're not qualified for the job. They will keep your job application for 90 days and if they don't call you within the 90 days, you can reapply. However, if a company rejects your job application, it pretty much means that they're not interested in hiring you and that you should look for another job.|||Why are you so fixated with KFC and one specific store? Apply to other places and other businesses if you want a job and need money.
With focus on one place, you will never learn form diverse places.
And ther eis a careers section|||course u should reapply every time they have an opening!... but ring and ask y u didn't get through and if there is anything you can do to improve..
also y kfc and y that store? im interested! :P|||It's caz your not black|||It means that right now, they are not looking for people. They keep your application for 90 days and may contact you during that time if a position opens up that you are eligible for. if they have not contacted you after 90 days, you can put in a new application. this is actually very common with fast food and high turnover jobs. they always have a steady stream of applications and a steady turnover. chance are that they will call you in during the 90 days for an interview. doesn't 100% mean you'll get hired since they have many people to choose from.|||Could have been anything. Maybe they were looking for someone with more fast food experience or better availability/flexibility. They might have been looking for people willing to work shifts at other KFC/Taco Bell/Long John Silvers shops in your local area from time to time. It's hard to say for sure. For whatever reason, you were not a good match for their current needs. Generally speaking, you need to be very flexible and available to get far in the fast food and retail industries. There are costs associated with each employee they hire, so they're going to hire those whose flexibility allows them to keep as few people on staff as possible. If your lack of flexibility means they would have to hire a second person to meet their overall need, they're going to hire one of the other applicants with better flexibility and pass on you.
I don't see any problem with re-applying. Their needs will be changing all the time, depending on where in the shop the help is needed and what kind of availability and flexibility they are looking for.
