How do I make homemade baby food smooth like store bought stage one?

I have a baby food grinder but it doesnt get the food really smooth and my baby isnt very impressed and I dont want to buy her baby food, I want to make it myself. Any tips on what to use or how to make her food smooth like stage one??? Thanks everyone!

p.s. She is 6 months old and never had baby food before to know that she prefers it smooth but everytime I try to feed her, she spits most of it out unless its smooth enoughHow do I make homemade baby food smooth like store bought stage one?
I steam the veggies then put them in the blender with a little water and blend until smooth. I usually stop it a few times to mix it up with a spoon so no chunks get stuck to the sides or at the bottom. It always gets pretty smooth for me. Then when I go to feed it I mix in a little formula to smooth it out a little more. You can also run it through a strainer to get the lumps.
We used to steam the food and then blend it, adding in the water we used for the steaming until it was smooth. Foods that didn't need steaming just got regualr water added. Peeling your fruits and veggies (when possible) makes it smoother too. Some super easy foods to make smooth are apples, bananas, sweet potatoes and advacados. As she gets used to the texture you can just add less and less water. Oh, and just use a regular blender right now, the baby food grinder doesn't do as good a job breaking everything up.How do I make homemade baby food smooth like store bought stage one?
When my mother in law keeps my son she makes his food home made, She puts whatever she wants to feed him in a blender mixed with some formula or even breast milk if you are breast feeding and it comes out pretty smooth. Since you are just starting I would start off with some bananas or some sort of veggie, Peas, avocado, carrots, or sweet potatoes....

My son is 8 months old and I just give him whatever we eat just chopped in tiny pieces but the other day my mother in law made home made mac n cheese and she did not know that when we feed him mac n cheese I just cut the noodle in half and give it to him so she put it in the blender with some formula and blended real good and it came out just like the mac n cheese baby food it was very smooth so that may be a good idea for you to try for a starter.

I steam all my veggies/fruit (besides banana and avocado). Then I put them in a food processor. Once it is chopped I add some water. That will get it smooth. The only veggie that I can't get smooth is green beans. They are always gritty.
After you run it through the grinder strain it with a strainer - that'll get the last of the lumps out and leave just smooth foods :)
Homemade food will always be a bit like grits. Try adding water?

First of all, no solids should be given before 6-9 months of age, so you've got plenty of time. First, start with mashed ripe banana - that's simple. Ripen a banana (black parts won't harm her), and just use a folk and mash it, then feed it to her with a small spoon, or . . . if she can hold it as older babies can do, let her eat it herself. Any fruit can be blanched and mashed the same way. If you have a Happy Baby Food Grinder that's more than you need, but it doesn't have to be like commercial baby food IF it's the right food.

Never give citus, wheat, or egg products to a baby before a year of age. They are foods that cause allergic reactions. Don't rush foods yet. In fact, you'll only be making more work for yourself, so you can enjoy this time.

Breastfeeding mother who are members of LaLeche League are well-informed about "starting solids" so don't hesitate to contact your local group. At first, give easily digested fruts and veggies, blanched pears, peaches, and scraped apples (scape the apple with a spoon into a saucepan and add a bit of water and cook slowly untill soft), as well as the ripend banana, then start with some veggies such as green beans, spinach, Acorn Squash, etc. Do not add any seasonings - your baby will enjoy foods in their natural state.

Additionally, for years, mothers have given their babies their own chewed foods; that's fine too as long as you are healthy - and you'd know that ahead of time. When your baby begins teething, they love to hold a carrot to knaw on!

Noting that you report your baby "prefers it smooth" may indicate the food, not the texture; if you enjoy providing it to her, she may enjoy it more -- and it's very normal for a baby as young as 6 months to spit anything out of their mouths - they are very instinctual and she may be indicting she doesn't need solids, yet. Enjoy motherhood.
