How does one get to find out if a product will sell to stores?

so much money is being spent on R%26amp;D to develop products for retail sales. its sad that such a small percentage of that is actually being recovered as part of sales of the product! not to mention the dissapointment!

How can the product be eveluated at the initital stage itself ?How does one get to find out if a product will sell to stores?
Product testing: think of who will be buying the product and conduct surveys as to if they would buy it, how much they are willing to pay for it, etc... It takes lots of time to do this, but it's highly worth it.How does one get to find out if a product will sell to stores?
thats where concept surveys come in. You can test the idea of a product even before creating it.
