all the residential area is having very poor gar beg storing system. everywhere plastic and spoil things are there. we should reduce this. How the gar beg or we stage part can be reduce?
An increasing number of communities in the US are exploring different regulatory schemes aimed at reducing the number of plastic grocery bags. At the same time, a number of the larger chains are seeing the advantage of selling Re-usable bags on their bottom lines in terms of selling expenses, community good-will, and free advertisement. Even more stores are easing their "bag rules" which require sold goods to be placed in bags while those without bags are seen as shop lifted goods being carried by shoplifters first, sold and unbagged items carried by customers second. Unfortunately, many of the re-usables are also made of synthetics and plastics; many containing lead and other less than ideal decoration.
Of course, these disposable plastic bags are Re-usable and Recyclable; unfortunately the plastic and synthetic bags sold as re-usables are not. In our efforts to get people recycling, we have ended up depicting recycling as the "nirvana" of being green, environmentally responsible, and even the end goal in saving the planet and endangered species. In this light, the plastic, disposable, grocery bag is seen by many as better environmental choice over other alternatives. It is also free and convenient. And, many of us have come to rely on this free source of kitty litter containment, dog walking bags, garbage and trash can liners, wet garbage gatherers, sack lunch containers, and more.
What is lacking is the understanding and knowledge of how much landfill space these bags take up in our local landfills or the number that escape the landfills along our roadways. What is lacking is an understanding of how these bags break down, or even decompose in the case of the decomposable grocery sacks, and what becomes of the remnants. Even fewer of us know of the issues related to small particulate and chemical residue left by these bags, and other plastics, along our shore lines, water ways, ground water, and soil. Among these issues are those revolving around human reproduction by specific chemical compounds; some of which are "bound" to the plastic and some of which are/are likely to become unbound. These include increased infertility, increased premature birth, premature maturation, and an assortment of others.
Of course, all of these are still not well accepted and remain controversial. Formal conclusion that say the plastic used in preparing, storing, transporting, and eating food led to human health problems would set a number of industries on end. And, what if we found out that playing video games, using the computer, listening to music, and watching TV involved more issues other than those related to too much sedentary entertainment?
Still, I believe that getting the message across to the harms that these bags can cause will further put a chink in their acceptance and continued usage. Thiss assumes that there are viable and affordable alternatives. And, it would be helped along if business started to eliminate or charge for them or, governement outlawed them or charged for them. How the gar beg or we stage part can be reduce?
