When can I feed my child stage three baby food?

My baby is seven and a half months and when I go to the store on the Gerber jars it says sitter. He is a sitter, feeding himself, and crawling. So when is it safe to give him stage three baby food? He has one tooth and knows how to move his jaw. Any help would be great!!When can I feed my child stage three baby food?
As long as your baby can gum well....bring it on! I personally think that after stage 2,you can feed baby whatever you make for yourself and family. That jar stuff is overrated and expensive and not all that healthy.Just make sure the pieces are soft and small. As he gets better you can add more textured, chunky foods.Babies have really good reflex,so just start small and go one day at a time.Using frozen veggies, flaked fish, soft and mashed potatoes(with some chunks) etc.is great! He will be grabbing from your plate and wanting that steak you're eating in no time:)My baby only has 2 teeth and eats everything!Have fun!
your baby needs to starts chewing, they develop that reflex at around 7 months,

pureed foods should be for about 2 weeks and then you make it thicker until you start mashing with a fork.

i heard of a 3 year old that only eats mashed food, and the parents think its completely normal.

and my girl start eating at 6 months, at 7 1/2 months she was eating bbq chops with no teeth.

just make sure you break everything into small pieces.

i really never gave my girl jar foods, what i eat she would eat, and touch wood she loves her food.

she even chews on spring onions. When can I feed my child stage three baby food?
As long as he knows how to mash food with his jaw and chew, he can have stage 3. If he is feeding himself, I'm going to assume he eats small pieces of solids....I would go ahead and give it a try!
once he knows what to do with the "bits" you can really give him any kind of food, just make sure the pieces are small enough that won't choke him if he doesn't chew. When can I feed my child stage three baby food?
when you feel he is ready my son is 6 months im already giving him stage 2 and he is loving every min of it
