Did you kids ever go though this stage?

When at the store, and my kids asked for me to by them "whatever", and I would tell them. I don't have the money right now. They would always respond with, "Just write a check mom!" It took them a while to understand the "check book" concept.Did you kids ever go though this stage?
I was TERRIBLE in the stores. I remember throwing fits and tantrums. My Mom must have been soooo embarrassed with me.

Mom, I apologize!!!
Hi Mo. My grandson is forever wanting me to buy him something every time we are at the store. He never ask about the check book because I never use it. But he is always telling me "I know you have the money because you wouldn't be at the store if you didn't" and I reply that I may have the money but it is my money to spend how I want. Don't think he is a needful child, but he is a wanting child. We have to let them know the concept of money and how to spend it wisely. He is 9, smart and will know the value of money because I will teach him.. It is a very important lesson children need to learn at an early age. PoppyDid you kids ever go though this stage?
I really hated taking any of my kids to any store. I still can't figure out why those little people became disgusting tyrants the minute they entered the store. Running for this, pulling that off the shelf, what a nightmare.

So I instituted the #3 rule. "I will tell you only 3 times to stop doing something, then it's outside and your butt is going to get red."

Soooo, I took my daughter into the store and she started this whining. I told her nicely about it ONCE, then she became louder and I told her about it TWICE.

That stubborn kid kept it up and I said "Ok kid, that's number three"!! She then threw herself on the floor and screaming said, "Oh no mommie, don't beat me again!!"

Guess what all the other customers did. I was the villain of the week. I don't remember ever taking the kid to the store after that.

Then there was the time....Oh well, all you moms know already.
My daughter used to tell me to "stick the card in" at the bank. It took a while to learn that there had to be money in the bank to use the card. Seems like maybe she might still have that problem occasionally. Fortunately she's married, so her husband has to deal with it not me.. :-)Did you kids ever go though this stage?
All I had to do was "write a check" I always carried a checkbook, so therefore I had money..yeah, right..also putting gas in the car would make it go faster..and taking off the hub caps would also make it go faster..seems we didn't drive fast enough for those boys..
My mom did I borrowed some money from her and every time I saw her she said write a check. It took her a while to understand the concept of The check book and never to this day understands God, Family ,Money or Morals. but that's mom for you
No, mine didn't. They understood that no money for toys etc that week meant no.
No, but I did.
