Is digital music the final stage in the evolution of recorded music? How could anything get more perfect?

I mean, over decades we've gone from gramophones to LP albums to VHS to CD/DVD...to now, digital music, where all the data is stored in a teeeny microchip!

How could anything possibly come after this?

Isn't digital music the final stage in this improvement process?!Is digital music the final stage in the evolution of recorded music? How could anything get more perfect?
I wonder that same thing! They might wow us again though, because I remembered as a child in the 90s, I didn't think there was going to be anything after CDs and those big TVs (non-HD) was the end of the line.
LPs to CDs was actually a step backwards because, in the race to get to market first, they standardized at a low level of audio quality. And we're currently stepping backwards again, with a 3rd layer of information loss through MP3 compression.

We are literally dumbing down our music.

The highest quality is always live; you know, the way we used to do it.

If we knew how it could get better, wouldn't it be?Is digital music the final stage in the evolution of recorded music? How could anything get more perfect?
true

all this technology really isnt that great
well the microchip can get smaller and smaller and the music quality can get better and better. or in a little longer i think all music will be stored in our heads via nanotechnology, not just music a lot of other things like books and movies. read about it fun, i think
you can try to use this http://www.makemymtv.com/index.html
