Has anyone else noticed the change in bananas?

They start to turn dark and bruise, sometimes within hours after I buy them, no matter how they're kept (and I'm even living in a different house!). I've bought them from different stores and at different stages of ripeness. The still-green ones I bought the other day have turned more bruised-looking than yellow - and it's not the beautiful banana-color yellow.

I live in southern CA and never had this problem until about two years ago.Has anyone else noticed the change in bananas?
Most fruit is having this problem because with the move to more natural foods the producers aren't using the same chemicals to keep the fruit fresh like they used to.Has anyone else noticed the change in bananas?
Stop buying them at 7-11!! I live in S. CA, too, and I don't have that problem. You needa stop whackin em on the shelves and chit. Even the green ones can bruise, u just don't see it til they ripen. Once the bananas ripen to how you like em...put 'em in the fridge...the skins turn black, but inside the banana is perfectomundo. LOLHas anyone else noticed the change in bananas?
take your green bananas and put them for example in a dark closet or somewhere dark to ripen

and what ever you do do not put them near a vegetable like tomatoes because they put off a natural ethylene gas that will turn allot of other vegetables bad

like you can not put tomatoes and cucumbers in the same place

the cucumbers will go bad very quickly

this is the reason you put green tomatoes in a brown bag in a dark place because it gives off a gas that ripens vegetable quickly

and don't put vegetables resting on a steel metal surface because this will also bring bad effects
I have. They seem to become yellow from green a lot quicker now too. Before, we'd get a bunch that was green and it'd still be green for three or four days... Now it's a day or two. Have even had a few bananas split open while just yellow.

On a side note, did you know that in the future we may not have bananas? http://www.commondreams.org/views03/0719鈥?/a> Food for thought.
