I need ideas for my wedding ceremony to cover the park benches in front of the wedding stage please.?

I'm getting married at a local park here in my town and it's at a band stage with 42 park benches facing the stage. The benches are wide open to nature's wrath and some are covered with bird droppings. Instead of scrubbing each and every bench, I'd rather just cover them so they all look nice. No stores sell park bench covers except for heavy duty storage one's which are about $50 each. That is way out of my budget. Please help give me some ideas of what to do.

I thought of finding a bunch of old white sheets and cutting and sewing them to fit them but still think there should be other ideas. AHHHHHH!!!I need ideas for my wedding ceremony to cover the park benches in front of the wedding stage please.?
Plastic table clothes I think would be the best way to go. Washing all of them the day of the wedding would take way to much time. And you would have to wash them the day of to make sure they stayed clean. Just drape the table cloth over the bench and use rope or ribbon to secure it where the seat meets the back of the bench. That way it is easy and fast and the whole bench is still covered. Good luck!
I would suggest to get some plastic table cloths from a party store (the long ones). Cut them in half and wrap them around the bench seats. If they are wooden, use a staple gun to secure the table cloths. If they are metal, use duct tape underneath to secure it where no one can see.

This is an easy solution, and it removes quickly as well.

Good luck!I need ideas for my wedding ceremony to cover the park benches in front of the wedding stage please.?
Buy some nice fabric and sew them! You can some flowers in the aisles.
I think you should just wash them. It'll be way cheaper than trying to over 42 benches with material. Plus it would look tacky if you covered them up.I need ideas for my wedding ceremony to cover the park benches in front of the wedding stage please.?
I would just wash them too, I dont think you will want to cover them up, just wash and decorate with ribbon or tulle and flowers
well I would at least spray them off first but you could get some white fabric and embellish it with ribbon in the color of your bridal party
i would go with some cheap table cloths( like $1 at wal-mart) just wrap them and tape them
if you don't have the money ,just clean them up and let them be...
I have a similar issue in that I am getting married at my dad's house. He lives on the lake and there are benches on the dock where we will be married. I am getting a custom aisle runner in our wedding colors and am making simple pillows for the benches. I will adhere the pillows to the benches with velcro so they won't fall in the lake. Another idea I had was to rent table skirts from a rental company. This actually worked out well. You can use those table clips to adhere the skirts to the benches. Also, just get inexpensive tulle in your wedding colors and use ribbon to form the tulle into the shape of the benches. You can buy lots of tulle to practice because it so inexpensive. My friends tell me not worry about the bences because they look rustic but I don't like it. You could leave them bare and add ribbons to the ends. I am going to sew the pillows with my friends with cheap fabric I found for $1 yard at Walmart. The project will cost about $100. Bottom line is that nothing you do will be easy but all the hard work is worth it. It is your wedding.
Hi. Ohhh....my neighbor girl is having her wedding at a venue that sounds exactly the same! I never thought to ask her what she is doing about the park benches.

Anyway....I urge you to NOT cover them! First, check with the city. Where I live, there are strict rules against any kind of tape, staples, etc. at the park band shell.

Also....I think it takes away from the "ambiance" a little. The reason you are having that setting, I presume, is because you love the outdoors and the natural surroundings.

If it was me, I would hire some teenagers (or recruit friends!) to come the morning OF the wedding with buckets and brushes to clean them off.

Really, I don't think a plastic dollar store tablecloth is going to look right. It will look out of place, in my opinion.

I would opt for the cleaning idea. One person can hose a few benches, following by someone with a bucket, soap, and a sponge, and it won't take very long to clean 42 benches. Unless you are having LOTS of people, you may be able to get by with just cleaning the first 10 or 12 on each side and then instruct your ushers to seat people at those benches first!
