What are the best sources for baby clothing from the 12 months to 2 year age?

I am a first time mom whose 4 month old is just out grown her 3-6 clothing. It is so hard to even purchase 2 months ahead (I keep all receipts and leave the tags on instead of pulling them all off and washing items...learned lesson). It is always hard to buy in season even for a baby unless you want the leftovers. I am finding that there is very little in the 9-12 month category as babies seem to be between infant and toddler stage. I am also frustrated as we are going on a cruise at the very end of April and I am struggling between 6-9 and 12 months for clothing (I am stuck with tons of summer clothing in the 6-9 range and I fear that will be too small). Department stores do not have any fancy dresses in the 6-9 or 12 month. We have a Carter's outlet (which is nice as they take back tagged items forever). I have also purchased basics at Target, Walmart, Kohls and Macy's. I can not find many pjs in th 12 month range as well. Any input would be appreciated!!!

Try E-bay or a good second hand store (Once upon a Time is a good one). Becasue children grow out of sizes so fast you can usually get some really cute/nice used stuff if you take time to look. Babies R Us is good for in store shopping. If you have to, go a little big...at least you know she will eventually grow into it.
www.sgtsmith.co.uk very good quality, friendly and they personalise!

Best way to shop by size is to assume you should buy for twice your child's age. ex. baby is 6 months you would buy a 12 month size. Not which country manufacturers are sizing for but this seems to be the trend. I also like to buy clothes that list a maximum weight as opposed to age. My favourite places to shop are consignment shops, good will and yard sales. Babies grow much to fast to pay full price.
Wanna buy alot of clothes and not spend alot. Go on craiglist you can get some great stuff and alot of it for cheep prices. Good Luck! What are the best sources for baby clothing from the 12 months to 2 year age?
I find the best thing to do is find a baby consignment store. some people don't like the idea of putting their child in used clothing, but a lot of it is almost brand new. They tend to carry all seasons of clothing and a lot of times the clothes that are out of season are at a discounted price. A popular one in the midwest (US) is called Once Upon a Child, they are very selective when buying. Good Luck!
You could check out my mom's website... she is running a used clothing store online for babies/children...

Hope that can help!
Sounds like your doing pretty well, Unfortunately when you baby is growing so fast as yours is you pretty much have to continue buying stuff. A good solution for pants is Baby Gap pants, the ones with the interior waist band sizer. Which is an elastic band that has various button holes that allows you to size the pants over time. Nice dresses are easy to find at online retailers. My favorites are Janie and Jack , gymboree and somtimes Talbot Kids. Little expensive but very cute and nice. We generally try to go to local consignment shops. I live in Philly and we have a good selection including stores from regular (target, walmat, kohls) to more expensive clothing. Also look online for any local mothers clubs (twins or multiples clubs) they usually have consignment sales to help their members and raise funds.
