Who hires 14 year olds in Cincinnati?

I'm looking for a job, and while I am going to try babysitting and getting red cross certified to do so, I want a more serious job. I have some volunteer work and some stage productions that I've worked on my resume, but little else. I don't want to work in grocery stores, and I'll avoid fast food if I can stand it, also. I'm a vegetarian, and wouldn't like to be around people frying up meat all day.

I dont know, any help would be great.

Thanks.Who hires 14 year olds in Cincinnati?
I cant figure out why anyone in their right mind would hire a kid to only cut their front lawn. Then you still have to get out your mower every week and cut the back. That doesnt even make sense- what good did hiring the kid do if you still have to go out and do 1/2 of the work later? If he made me that offer, he'd still be hearing me laughing as he got to the bottom of my driveway.

Anyway- babysitting is a good way for you to go, a you've figured out. At 14, you are somewhat limited in what you can do, unfortunately, otherwise I'd suggest something like lifeguarding. You could still look into it, although thats another Red Cross cert you'd need to get.

Dog walking, Pet sitting, and House Sitting while people are on vacation in your neighborhood are also good ways at your age to make some money.

You could offer to clean pools if you have many of those in your neighborhood.Who hires 14 year olds in Cincinnati?

Kroger... I started working there when I was 14
First, do not limit yourself the the "normal" ways of earning money for kids your age. Everybody it trying that

I have a friend in Houston who's son bought a riding lawnmower. When hw was 10. He would mow the lawns for people in the neighborhood.

He would only do lt do it this one way. Front's only, every Saturday morning,(he started at 9:00AM) mow the grass, (with a mulching deck, no bagging) and blow up clippings. Nothing else with one exception-he would do a couple of back yards. (if he could get the mower through the gate.-charged more.)

He got stuck moving things n the front lawn, water hose etc., but he avoided it as much as he could. The idea was he would mow all the lawns and then go back and blow them.

He worked hard and never took any breaks. He never missed a Saturday. He generally finished between 1 and 2

He only charged $10..00 for the front (17 for both). Really cheap.

The people he worked for liked the fact that they could do the rest of the stuff when they got the chance, but the house always looked pretty good.

All the housed were within 3 blocks of his house. And other than blowing the grass, he generally did not get off the mower.

This kid came up with the this idea on his own. His family did not think much of it. But he went out and sold the work. He knocked on doors near every house he mowed and asked if they needed their lawn mowed.

By the third week, this crazy kid was bring home over $100 a week.

We're talking $20 an HOUR!

Talk to you parents. There is bound to be something that people want done in your area that you can do quick and cheap.

He made money because he was lower that the commercial business in the area. But he made good money because he did not have to drive any to get to the locations and he did several places all at once, right next to each other.

My son did something like this, but on a larger scale in high school, he was 16. He ended up with a truck, trailer, etc. He would end up working Friday evenings till dark, Saturdays from 8:00 till about 7:00 and Sundays from 9:00 till about 5:00.

This was in 77-79. He would take home about $300 a weekend. When he got out of school He went into the Marine Corps and sold all of his equipment, but the truck....for $4,500.
