I'm considering getting a new laptop because my current one is quite old at this stage. I store most of my files on an external hard drive but the computer speed is generally very slow.
What is a good/very good processor speed these days.

But nowdays the clock speed isn't a good metric to use, since most processors are now multicore, have insane caching algorithms, instruction sets, etc that make the most difference. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-…|||well i have 2.13 GHz which is rated as 6.2 out of 7.9 it is super fast and a great speed. if its moving files it might not be the processor it might also be the disk read/write speed, as that affects how fast the computer can read/write to the disk.
