Stage fright?

i have to perform a poem on tuesday. and i have had a problem since 4th grade talking in front of people. i can do it in front of my theacher alone, but the entire class...not gonna happen. i can cheer, dance, anything else. and i can dance in the mall or store with my friends infront of people i dont know. but wen it comes to talking in front of my class, i have cried, thrown up, fainted. anything u can imagine. and idk why. it is my biggest fear. idk how to get over it. i miss school now wen i have to present something. or i will refuse to do it, but thats effecting my grades a lot...help =/|||When you are in front of the class just think how easily you would tell them the poem if they were individually listening to you. Just think they are the same people just in a group who are listening to you and would listen to you on stage or offstage. So just be casual ,no one is going to do anything. Best of luck. You will do well|||Are you able to hold the poem in your hand while performing. I had the same fright and found that when I was able to hold something I did a lot better. Good Luck!|||Well, you could start by practicing in front of teddy bears. Not as stupid as it sounds! It really preps you up for the real thing. Just pretend when you really are reading, you're reading it so a bunch of stuffed animals. Take deep breathes and just read slowly and smoothly. If you have to look at people as you read, just pretend like you are looking at them, but you're really looking at something else.|||I think you should gain confidence in yourself. BELIEVE that presenting your poem in front of everyone will amaze them all because it's YOUR work, work that YOU'VE put in a lot of effort into. No need to plan anything out, just go up there %26amp; show them what you've got to offer! If they don't like it, that's their problem. All that would matter is the fact that YOU feel as if you did great %26amp; most importantly, you faced your fears :) Good luck!
