Unfortunately I cannot try either out because my only local store that does digital piano equipment doesn't stock either.
I will be using them for Midi capabilities, general home practice and with a band
Which would you pick and why?|||Hi
I don't play either (I'm a Yamaha man myself) but I recently did play a Roland Fantom as a piano and it seemed ok. The delay time was actually better than my Yamaha and it seemed capable in every other sense. I've never been a fan of Korg for pianos - so I would go for the Roland.|||i would recommend you to use the Roland RD-170. Why?
because in my opinion, if you're start to play a stage piano with a band, you might want something more on your digital piano, like for example: you can be able to plug in head phones, midi, output in it, and also can plug in a pedal to dampen the sound that you're playing. it's useful with the buttons that comes with it that can change the sound of the piano and add different sounds to it when you're in a band like a soft droning sound, a voice, having different pitches etc.
the last time i've seen something like a Korg, it doesn't have those buttons (i think) where you like to change into a different pitches or things.
but it's your choice. good luck =)
