How do I stop allowing myself to give up so easily?

Whenever I get really frustrated over something (finding a job, writing stories, or praying) that doesn't go way, I get lazy %26amp; then give up. And right now I'm in the lazy stage.

I remember one time I got so frustrated over this job I'm trying to get that when I went to the store to buy me some snacks %26amp; didn't have enough money, I gave up %26amp; went home to pout. Not once realizing the fact that I did have enough to get one snack. Its just my frustration got the best of me (again).|||You have to learn to recognize that you are doing it in the moment in which it is taking place, and come up with a mantra or something that you can recite to yourself to help get through that moment in order to keep trying.

Here's an example of something that I do:

I play racquetball. In the past, if I were playing poorly I would mumble to myself very negative things that would only make me play worse. My concentration would get thrown off and I would be miserable by the end of the night. Then I would beat myself up later for losing my focus and doing so bad. Now, I tell myself to focus. I repeat it over and over. I concentrate on what I need to do to beat my opponent, and when I miss a few points, I absolutely do not criticize myself. Instead I tell myself that I need to focus and try harder. It has helped me a lot.

Once you realize that you are going to quit, you need to find the strength to take one more step. Once you take one step, taking another will be easier. Good luck.|||The fact that you can see this within yourself gives you power to fight against it. As easily as you gave up you can try again and again until the very nature of giving up become changed in you and you become someone who always tries. Its a character flaw no more and these things just take practice. Your well on your way to becoming a overcomer.|||You should punish yourself. Tell yourself that you can't have this or that until you get your work done. Deprive yourself of pleasure until the work is done.

This may sound odd, but can be very motivational and once it becomes a habit, you'll be a very productive person.|||Just look at all the positive things in your life right now and quit focusing on all the bad and negative that has happened to you

and look at the world in a much brighter life|||you need to go out and have some fun. takes stress and stuff away.

just count to 10 before you get frustrated, give yourself time to think things through and calm down :)|||some times is just that you don't want things badly because when you do you just tried very hard no matter what it is|||You lack self-discipline.|||its nothing that someone can teach you how to do it. you simply just don' give up. no on ecan make you give up or not give up.|||There is no secret honey, you just have to choose to stick with it. You always have a choice.|||Get more rest, drink coffee in the morning, research the symptoms for ADHD.|||Everyone in the world has the problem, it's how much you want it, is the answer!|||go get laid.|||by just calming down...|||your best bet is to talk to a counselor and not rely on online strangers .

Perhaps this is more than just frustration ? Better be safe than sorry .|||You have to stay the course and believe....No one ever said it was going to be easy....We all feel that way sometimes....
